Rufus is mostly a Hampshire boar. He has the white band at the shoulders of a Hamp, but his red color maybe comes from a Duroc, according to my ag. teacher friend.

Rufus is the one we are going to keep for breeding.
Our other little boy is a Chester White. We are calling him Porky, because he will be providing us some pork in the future.

Here is a good one of the two together, taken the day we got them:

They really are smaller than Sally and Nellie, since they are a month younger, but the pictures don't really let you see much of a difference. Here's one of Porky with Nellie and Sally:

They all four eat like little pigs!


I am going to end this post with a picture from last month that I missed somehow of Simon with Nellie and Sally. I should have put it with the post of more cute pictures of pigs from a couple of weeks ago. All the children are still enjoying the pigs of Pure Water Hollow!
