Our 2007 Annual Family Bible Conference Scrapbook

Many summers around the week of July 4th you can find us leaving Pure Water Hollow to attend the Annual Family Bible Conference at Camp Nathanael. We first attended their Family Bible Conference the summer of 2000, and have been blessed to attend several times since.

Camp Nathanael is located just over an hour from our house here in eastern Kentucky and is truly a wonderful place and ministry. We usually just call this week our "Family Camp". They put up the families in the same cabins that the children stay in during the summer camp weeks, feed us three great meals a day, and allow us to participate in all the camp activities they offer. They also have a great Bible teacher and usually a wonderful missionary speaker for the 4 day event, with two services in the morning and and one each evening.

This year, we had Erica’s digital camera and took plenty of pictures. I thought I would put them up in this entry as sort of a scrapbook for us to look back on this wonderful time.

Here is a cabin we have stayed in several times named "Trinidad":

One of the activities is archery. We usually do not get as good as Robin Hood’s band of Merry Men, but we like to try:

The horse rides are always a great favorite:

Here is Christina on the trail with one of her camp friends:

This was the first year that Simon could ride by himself without anyone leading the horse for him:

Speaking of Simon, this was the first year he was allowed to try the 30 foot climbing wall and he was able to scale to the very top on his first try:

That’s Matthew on the left side. He is now a pro even on the harder side. Here he is on top:

This is a good one of the girls and the size of the wall. Each panel is 10 feet. Erica is an old pro at this wall and this was the first year Christina was allowed to try. She did great, going about 20 feet up it!

The swimming pool always makes a big splash:

This is Christina on the right, jumping off a diving board with a friend:

And here she is up on top of the slide. This is the same slide she fell off the top of when she was only two years old, face first onto the pavement:

This is an interesting shot of Matthew going down the slide, just a second before he went under the water. It looks like he is sitting on top of the water, doesn’t it:

Speaking of slides, they have a very big one over on the hill. Here is Simon at the top of it:

And this is looking over Matthew’s shoulder, getting ready to go down:

They fed us three wonderful meals a day. Some of the best times involve eating with friends and family:

Most meals are in the dining hall, but they always make use of the picnic shelter on the 4th for an old fashion Independence Day picnic:

This year the mission staff put on some pretty good skits about the history of the mission:

They have a wonderful staff at Scripture Memory Mt. Mission. This is the director, Roy Hodson:

And the assistant director, Larry Toner:

And here is a picture of our main speaker this year, Ray Prichard:

I thought I would also include several misc. pictures of friends and the grounds:

And there you have it! More pictures than most people want to see, but they mean a lot to us. We thank the Lord for the great memories.
