We often enjoy some snow this time of year, but instead, the warm temperatures have allowed Simon to enjoy playing on the raft that Matthew made for him for Christmas.
Matthew spent many hours building a Simon size raft out of poplar trees. He cut several trees down with his axe and chopped them up into the size logs he wanted. He did every bit of it all by himself and was almost finished before I even knew that he was working on it!
Simon loved it! These pictures were taken on December 26th, but Simon has gotten out on his raft every day he has gone up to the barn with us to help feed the animals.

Simon also enjoys piloting his raft sitting on a milk crate seat.

And here is the captain of the raft (Simon) alongside the designer and engineer of the raft (Matthew).

I thought it was a wonderful present and I was very proud of Matthew for having the initiative and love needed to come up with such a project for his little brother!
