Coon Days

I haven’t mentioned the raccoons that the children have been taking care of.

A friend of ours was with a logging crew in the next county over and he rescued two baby raccoons this past spring. They kept the coons for a few weeks and then found a new home for them. Ours!

We built a secure coon lot in the ravine and the coons have been doing great. We enjoy watching them play, and they are pretty tame. Erica named one "Ta’" and the other "Da", as in "Ta-Da!" They have already grown quite a bit since we got them.

We are planning on keeping them through the winter and then releasing them next spring.

We have not taken many pictures of them, but the other day Erica was letting one of them play in the tree house in the ash-leaf maple tree in front of our house.
