Find A Penny, Pick It Up

I typed a nice big post last night but the computer crashed while I was publishing it so it seems that it got all wiped out. I won’t be able to write exactly what I did last night, but I was mainly writing about my wife’s shopping trip yesterday.

Along with the $200 from my paycheck, she took some curtains back to the store and got $25 for them and she also found $20 in an envelope from the summer! So she had a total of $245 in cash for this shopping trip. Looking at the receipt she got mostly grocery items but also things like anti-perspirant, shampoo, light bulbs, soap, and fabric softener so it was a general house hold needs shopping trip. She also bought a lot of things for the youth conference our church hosted last night. All she had was the cash and that was all she spent. (And I do mean all) When adding up the receipts I was amazed at the final total. Can you believe that it came to $244.99!?! I was not amazed that it cost that much, (since it has been 3 weeks since she last went shopping), but that my wife was able to budget our money out to within 1 penny! She is amazing.

We had a good youth conference last night. There were 86 people in attendance with 46 of them being youths and children. That is a lot of people for our small church and we had to put out chairs just to make it a bit more comfortable. Our children sang with the church youth choir and then everyone answered Bible trivia questions. The speaker did a good job and the business meeting went smoothly. Afterwards there were hot dogs and cookies for everyone. I was more enthusiastic in my writing about it last night, but oh well.

Now, let’s see if we can get this to post today.
